In the early seventies, Cy Strickler, first President of the Brougham Owners Association, prepared useful statistical data on all Eldorado Brougham models ever built.  I am sure that Cy will have no objection to his valuable data being published here for the interest and benefit of all current Brougham owners or admirers of these bespoke Cadillac models. Since I no longer have a valid mailing address for Cy, I have not been able to secure his written authority.   However, having corresponded with Cy for many years, I am confident that he would have granted me the courtesy of allowing me to use his valued work here.  If any Database user is still in contact with Cy, perhaps he/she would kindly give me his current snail-mail or e-Mail address so that I might renew contact.

The first table, below, gives the numbers of Broughams shipped to each state of the Union, first in aphabetixal order of destinations [state postal code initials].  The second tables presents the data in descending order by volume and alphabetical order by destination.

This third table lists and describes the paint codes of each Brougham.  It includes statistical data on the numbers of each Brougham painted a given color.  Some of these color combinations are extremely rare, as you will see.  The rarest colors appear last on the list. The favorite colors throughout the four years the Eldorado Brougham models were built were (1) black and (2) white.  In 1957 and 1958, eight colors tempted only a single buyer; three out of these eight cars have survived.  In 1959 and 1960, four colors had that effect on four buyers. These four cars have survived.

Cela a été un travail de longue haleine que de recopier toutes les données statistiques qui se rapportent aux rares Cadillac Eldorado Brougham fabriquées de 1957 à 1960. Ce premier travail de fourmi fut réalisé dans les années soixante-dix par Cy Strickler III, le premier président du Brougham Owners' Association.

Cadillac fabriqua plus de 900 Brougham sur quatre ans; aussi, à raison d'un seule ligne par voiture, imaginez le travail! J'ai commencé à recopier les chiffres de Cy en l'an 2000 et c'est grâce à un autre passionné de Cadillac Eldorado Brougham, M. Jason Frey, que cet oeuvre a pu être achevée au mois d'octobre 2000.

On trouvera dans les tableaux ci-dessus les destinations de l'ensemble de la production (par état - en plus des modèles qui furent exportés) ainsi que les divers codes qui correspondent à la teinte de la voiture et aux types et teintes de l'habillage intérieur et des tapis de sol.  

Malheureusement nous ne connaissons pas le nom des premiers propriétaires de ces exceptionnelles voitures et c'est bien dommage car la liste devait lire comme un "Who's Who?" international.

Les tableaux suivants fournissent des indications détaillées sur chacune des 904 Broughams sorties des usines Cadillac (pour les modèles de 1957 et 1958) et des ateliers Pininfarina à Turin, pour ce qui concerne ceux - plus rares - de 1959 et 1960
